Axxsys Consulting, part of the Alpha Group, is pleased to announce the successful implementation of BlackRock Aladdin®, one of the industry’s most comprehensive risk management platforms for VellivPension og Livsforsikringsselskab, a leading life insurance company in Denmark with over €30 billion assets under management. This implementation is the final phase of a major organisational change programme where Axxsys have supported Velliv in delivering one of the industry’s most comprehensive investment operations platforms comprising of SimCorp Dimension®, eFront® and BlackRock Aladdin.

Velliv went live earlier this year on their new Risk Management platform BlackRock Aladdin Risk®.  Axxsys assisted Velliv’s front office team with project management, business integration and system implementation services across the whole investment process. This included portfolio construction, asset and risk factor allocation, over risk budgeting and limits, daily portfolio implementation, trading and compliance.

Velliv chose BlackRock Aladdin Risk because of the risk modelling capabilities that covers virtually all asset classes, liquid as well as illiquid assets. This enables Velliv to have a detailed and precise view on the risk, across all portfolios in real time.  Risk factor models, scenario and stress test capabilities, in combination with support for portfolio construction and general portfolio analytics will be key ingredients as Velliv continues to develop and refine their investment process around risk management.

With SimCorp Dimension®, eFront® and BlackRock Aladdin now fully integrated into a single platform, Velliv have the end-to-end processes designed for ultimate efficiency and control, supporting the firms mission to provide their clients a world class service and a solid and stable investment return.
